Hardware & Software

How can you obtain free or low cost hardware, software and internet access to participate in the network

The basics
  • hardware:  the machines-computers, tablets, smart phones
  • software:  the programs you need to tell the machines what to do for you.  Often called apps or applications
  • access: your pathway to the internet.  Maybe through an internet service provider (example) or maybe through a telephone provider or a free WIFI provider in your community
